Babassu is a palm tree, which is native to Brazil and Mexico, where there are still large wildlife populations and sprawling regions today. The BaBassu was not known until the early 19th century as an oil supplier in Europe. To date, there are no harvesters and coring is done manually.
Characteristics and substances:
Babassu oil organic is similar in their properties and applications of coconut. It´s a light yellow, tough fat which is solid at room temperature (melting point 22° 26 ° C). It is stored in a cool up to two year shelf life.
Applications:
Used in cosmetics. Due to its versatile properties, it is very well suited for soap production.
